Matthias R. Meyer, M.D.

Dr. Meyer is a graduate of the University of Zurich School of Medicine. His research interests include regulation of vascular tone, the role of sex hormones in cardiovascular disease and the clinical sex differences of coronary heart disease. Besides, his research includes projects on obesity and aging as risk factors for myocardial infarction. Dr. Meyer trained in internal medicine and cardiology in Zurich hospitals and the University Hospital Bern and continued his post-doctoral training at the Health Sciences Center of the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, U.S.A.. Dr. Meyer received fellowship awards and career development awards by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) . Until 2016 Dr. Meyer was attending physician at the Department of Cardiology at the State Hospital Aarau and is currently attending physician at the Division of Cardiology at Triemli City Hospital in Zürich.
